Fifteen large murals, painted in June 2012 by more than 130 artists from across the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, Scotland, and Australia, bring Arcola’s rich history to life. These works were created by the Walldogs, a world-renowned group of sign painters and mural artists who travel the globe transforming communities with their vibrant storytelling and timeless craftsmanship.

Strike a pose with history! Snap a selfie with the larger-than-life bronze sculpture of Raggedy Ann and Andy, a charming centerpiece in Arcola and a must-see for fans and visitors alike. Created by renowned American sculptor Jerry McKenna—known for his works honoring military leaders, religious icons, and sports heroes—this sculpture is not only a tribute to beloved childhood characters but also a testament to community spirit. Thanks to the generous support of 60 donors, the $65,000 project came to life in 2016 and continues to bring joy to all ages.

Benjamin Franklin's statue

And don’t miss another iconic figure who joined Arcola’s bronze lineup in February 2022—Benjamin Franklin. But here, he’s not just the founding father you remember from history books. In Arcola, Franklin is celebrated for introducing broomcorn seeds to the colonies, sparking a legacy that earned the town its title as “The Broomcorn Capital of the World.” McKenna’s sculpture honoring Franklin captures this unique contribution—so be sure to grab a legendary selfie with Ben while you're in town!
